How do I add the verification meta tag for Google Webmaster Tools to my home page?
In order to use Google's Webmaster Tools, you must first verify your site. There are a few ways to do this, but we suggest using the meta tag verification method. See Webmaster Tools Help for more information.
The best place to put the verification meta tag is in the
Insert in <head> section in page properties. You
can access this field by visiting your home page in Preview Editing
(Manage Content... Preview Editing) and clicking the Edit Page
Properties button. The button is located in the top right corner of
the window and looks like this:
![]()
Once you have Page Properties open, look for the field labeled
Insert in <head>: and paste the meta tag code
there. Once you publish the site the meta tag will be in the source
code of your home page. You can open the home page in your web
browser and view the source to verify the tag was added. Now you
can go back to Webmaster Tools and finish the verification
process.
