My content block for "foot nav" has broken links on it. I updated the html code to .html instead of .asp. But that did not seem to work. How do I update the links so that they work again? Please see attached dialogue box where I attempted to do the update.

  1. Why does my site break when I paste in content from Microsoft Word?

Microsoft work adds proprietary information to provide visual formatting to documents. When you copy and paste content from Word, this formatting information comes along with it and causes the problems you're seeing.

To fix this, use the "Paste from Word" button in the editor (looks like a clipboard with a W in front of it). This will remove the problematic style information.

Another method that will prevent this problem is to first paste your content from Word into a text editor such as Notepad. Then re-select your content in Notepad and copy and paste it into the editor. This extra copy-paste step will remove the extra code th...

This didn't work. I do not understand how you got the block programmed in the first place. When I go into it, there's no text there. The only text I have is if I go into html code and then I get the code that I pasted above. It doesn't work to take it out and put in notepad and put it back in. I guess I need to know how to create the content block.

Also, it works in "preview editing" just not in real life.

It looks like you have changed the links to Contact Us and About Us to use the .htm extension. The link to Suppliers is still using the .asp extension. All three links need to use the .html extension for the broken links to be fixed. Make sure that all three links use the .html extension, for example:

    contact_us.html
    about_us.html
    suppliers.html

Once you have clicked the Update button in HTML editing mode, clicked the Submit button, and published, the broken links should be fixed on your web site.
