Publishing Failed & Web page disappeared
I was creating a link on my website (fortunestoliveby.com) on a page called Personalize. It failed when I went to publish it. The message was:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Error: Unable to connect to FTP server
Warning: Either someone else in your organization is publishing or your last publish attempt didn't finish. If you're sure no one else is publishing your site, click the Publish button to resume your last publish attempt. If publishing fails repeatedly, use the advanced options to force republishing of the failed items.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I did try the advanced publish options (selected Pages) and it also failed. Now when I go on my website the Personalize page is no longer there (blank white page) and the website is hung. My website is functioning if I stay away from the Personalize page.
Please help me as soon as possible!!!!! Thank you. Christine Harding

Christine,
The CMS is not able to connect to and publish files to your FTP server with the current settings. I viewed your publish settings and clicked the
Test FTP Connectionbutton and the test failed thePermissionsandRemote directorytests. When the CMS does not pass all the tests, it won't be able to publish your site. I tried changing theFTP modesetting fromPassivetoActiveand that enabled the tests to pass.I haven't saved any changes to your settings, I just ran the tests. To solve your problem, you must log in to the CMS, navigate to
Publish Website...Publish Settingsto change your publish settings. Once you are on that page, change theFTP modesetting fromPassivetoActiveand then clickSubmitto save your changes. Then, navigate toPublish Website...Start Publishingand click thePublishbutton to publish your web site and fix the problem. For future reference, this Knowledge Base Article has some tips on troubleshooting publishing problems:

Christine,
The CMS is not able to connect to and publish files to your FTP server with
the current settings. I viewed your publish settings and clicked the `Test
FTP Connection` button and the test failed the `Permissions` and `Remote
directory` tests. When the CMS does not pass all the tests, it won't be able
to publish your site. I tried changing the `FTP mode` setting from `Passive`
to `Active` and that enabled the tests to pass.
I haven't saved any changes to your settings, I just ran the tests. To solve
your problem, you must log in to the CMS, navigate to `Publish Website`...
`Publish Settings` to change your publish settings. Once you are on that
page, change the `FTP mode` setting from `Passive` to `Active` and then
click `Submit` to save your changes. Then, navigate to `Publish Website`...
`Start Publishing` and click the `Publish` button to publish your web site
and fix the problem.
